Attractions close to Taupo itself offer such diverse activities as bungy jumping from a cliff high above the mighty Waikato River, scenic flights, and thrilling jetboat rides below the awesome Huka Falls. Parachute jumping is also popular. Also there are fishing trips on the Lake, as well as the thermal attractions of 'Craters of the Moon' and Wai-o-Tapu.
